ANZAC DAY

ANZAC Day Commemorations

The Gympie RSL Sub Branch invites the community to join us in honouring and remembering the service and sacrifice of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.

ANZAC Day is a time for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude for those who have served and continue to serve our nation.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend and pay their respects as we commemorate the courage, mateship, and legacy of the ANZACs.

Honouring Gympie’s Heroes

Each year on ANZAC Day, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who served our nation. Gympie has a proud history of contributing to Australia’s defence, with local men and women answering the call in conflicts spanning from the First World War to more recent operations.

The Gympie & Widgee War Memorial Gates and Memorial Park stand as lasting tributes to our community’s servicemen and women, reminding us of the extraordinary bravery and commitment of generations past. From the ANZACs who fought on distant shores to our modern-day veterans, Gympie has always been a town that honours service and supports those who serve.

This ANZAC Day 2026, join the Gympie RSL Sub Branch as we commemorate these heroes. Attend the Dawn Service, join the ANZAC Day Parade, take part in the Community Service, and reflect on the courage, mateship, and legacy that define our community. Lest we forget.

ANZAC Day Medal Guidelines

On ANZAC Day, medals are worn as a mark of respect and recognition for service to Australia. The Gympie RSL encourages all attendees participating in the Dawn Service, ANZAC Day Parade, and Community Service to observe the following medal etiquette.
