Remembrance Day

Each year on Remembrance Day, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice and service of those who have served our nation. Across generations, Australians have answered the call to serve, from the battlefields of the First World War through to more recent conflicts, peacekeeping missions and operations around the world, as well as those who continue to serve Australia today.

The Gympie & Widgee War Memorial Gates and Memorial Park stand as lasting tributes to our community’s servicemen and women, providing a place for us to reflect on the extraordinary bravery, commitment and sacrifice of those who served. From generations who served in times of war to our modern-day veterans, Gympie has a proud history of honouring service and supporting those who have worn our nation’s uniform.
