Join us at Gympie RSL to honour and remember the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of our servicemen and women this ANZAC Day, Friday, 25th April 2025.
A series of commemorative events will be held throughout the day, providing the community with an opportunity to pay their respects and reflect on the legacy of the ANZACs.
Floral Dedication (Wreaths & Bouquets) The day will begin with the traditional Floral Dedication at the First World War Memorial Gates on Mary Street, Gympie.
This ceremony allows the community to lay wreaths and bouquets in memory of those who served. Details for this event will be confirmed closer to the date.
Lighting of the Memorial Flame On the evening of the 24th of April, the Memorial Flame will be lit at Memorial Park to officially commence the ANZAC Day commemorations.
This solemn ceremony is a symbolic way to honour the fallen and reflect on their sacrifice. The exact time for this event will be advised soon.
Rollcall “Gunfire Breakfast” For veterans, the day will start early with the Rollcall “Gunfire Breakfast” at 4:00 am at Gympie RSL.
This event is a longstanding tradition and is reserved exclusively for veterans, offering them a warm meal and a moment of camaraderie to begin the day.
Dawn Service At 5:30 am, we invite the community to gather for the Dawn Service at Memorial Park on Reef Street.
This moving service provides a quiet moment to remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country, featuring reflective readings and a minute of silence.
ANZAC Day March The ANZAC Day March will commence from Mary Street, with form-up starting at 8:30 am and the march leading off at 9:00 am.
This significant tradition allows the community to show their support and appreciation for the service and bravery of our armed forces, as veterans and current servicemen and women march through the streets.
Community Service Following the march, a Community Service will be held at Memorial Park at 10:15 am.
This service brings the community together to further honour the ANZAC spirit and reflect on the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women.
