In celebration of Veterans’ Health Week from 13th to 20th October, Gympie RSL Subbranch is hosting a month-long series of events under the theme “Keep Connected.”
This theme underscores the vital importance of social connectedness for veterans and their families, providing opportunities for bonding and engagement.
The month’s highlights include the Sour Dough Starter Party, where veterans can learn the art of sourdough baking.
For those who enjoy cultural experiences, there’s a trip to see Wicked the Musical at QPAC in Brisbane, while outdoor enthusiasts can participate in the Noosa River Fishing Charter, offering a relaxing day on the water.
Families are invited to the Community Movie Night in the Park, featuring the newly released Wonka movie. The event will also include a scavenger hunt, a jumping castle, popcorn, and food trucks for a funfilled evening.
Games Night promises an array of board games and social activities, while Paws & Connect offers a unique dog training session with flyball and agility demonstrations.
Don’t miss the Bus Trip to Rainbow Beach, a collaborative event with local RSL sub-branches, including a scenic day trip and lunch at the Rainbow Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
Female veterans are also invited to the Female Veterans Coffee & Catch-Up, a supportive networking session designed for connection and camaraderie.
